They listened to community, including support for modders (the same guys from PD2 moved over) to make great content for the game. They're *very* active on Discord, heck, sometimes even the CEO himself chips in, he's super cool.
The business model quite often gets them to release new DLCs for free for a limited time before they become paid.
Singleplayer is awesome and the actors are awesome, minus Chuck Norris (even being a huge fanboy he really dropped the ball on this one). Do remember it's memetastic, the whole idea behind the game is to be a great shooter/stealth/roguelite but ALSO to be *FUN*.
Old reviews no longer apply, there are indeed many very good reasons for the score to be what it is. It's straight up much better than PD3 in 90%+ aspects, although it can't obviously be compared to 10 years of content on PD2 (which I played for nearly 1k hours).
Really, get the game, every single person who followed this advice thanked me later so far :D
This is simply untrue: it's actually the other way around. SP campaign is a way more story oriented and coherent experience than MP. MP is basically individual jobs/heists or playlists.
470 hours since launch on EGS here, 99% SP. I would not have done that if it were just a list of missions.
The experience is roguelite with a few persistent upgrades, and the campaign/jobs are procedural + RNG + crafted, so it stays fresh and interesting over time.
Some content was cut to make it easier for beginners, but to compensate A LOT of content was added. Until the 11th you get all existing DLC for free too on the already low price.
It's not like Battlefront or other MP games with a sorry excuse for a SP campaign at all.
