How to prevent Epic website popups?

Having just completed the tutorial there's been like 3 different popups that take me out of the game. Really frustrating and makes me worried for if it might happen ingame.

I have no Epic account and will not make one.

ive had not a single one of these smh.Might be that i just ignored and closed them

or it could be that your Steam account is already linked to an Epic account so it never asked and won't ask unless you press the Link Accounts button

It opens a log in for Epic every time I launch the game. Would love to know how to turn that ♥♥♥♥ off.

It doesn't prompt you to link, it only gives you the option on the main menu and is entirely optional.

You need to log in, into Epic to be able to matchmake with Epic players as most players are on Epic. Steam is a small fish with this game.

Frankly that's enough to refund the game for me.

So I guess that was a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lie then? No wonder then angrily closed down that topic.

I took some time to experiment with this. I can confirm that this can happen.

It seems like, when you click a button to link your Epic Account, and then cancel linking your account, the game gets stuck trying to link it, or something. Every time the game enters a loading screen, it will re-open the account linking page on your browser, forcing you out of the game in the process.

Even closing and reopening the game doesn't help, and will open your browser during the company logos at launch.

What DOES seem to fix it, is trying to go into Multiplayer.
Hitting the Multiplayer button in the main menu will open TWO instances of the account link page, and kick you back to the title screen. Then trying to go into Multiplayer again will work correctly, and loading screens will no longer open your browser.

Edit: Adding to this, apparently sometimes opening Multiplayer DOESN'T fix it. I had to restart the game and try Multiplayer again to fix it.
