it's not there.
It's not anywhere it's supposed to be. The only thing in any of the locations is steam_autocloud.vdf.
Let me ask you this since you want to be condescending with links, how the ♥♥♥♥ do you think I found the steam_autocloud.vdf if I didn't Google it?
Do you think I just went to PC gaming wiki straight away?
And wtf did you think I meant when I said "any of the places it's supposed to be" ??
Why the ♥♥♥♥ do you think I asked the best way to retrieve it from the cloud?
You tried to pull out a "let me Google that for you" only to find you didn't think it through and you're not even answering the question but instead trying to answer a question that no one asked. Good job. This was very constructive of you.
I already know where the save file is. It's in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cloud. That's why I asked what is the correct order of operations to download the save so I can edit it and then overwrite the cloud one; not "where is my save file?"
And a little tip: don't pull an lmgtfy link on some one with a steam account older than 15 years. Our reflex is to Google everything.
And personally I know Windows file structure pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ well since I started building computers before Youtube existed, from literal trash thrown out at tax season, and I did so by "Googling" ♥♥♥♥, back when Yahoo was still an option. Off the top of my head I can name 9 different locations to look for save files, and never mind the fact that I can search the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ computer for game.ini files and not find the one for this game because I know how to use File Explorer's search function. (it's how I know i have several Game.ini files in the first place)

If it's not there, IDK, open a support ticket.
I have no idea why PC Gaming Wiki says that, because that's not where it is
C:\Users\YOURNAME\Saved Games\CrimeBoss\Steam\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
I managed to edit it to skip startup movies and that seems to have held, so I guess it's fine now and I can move on to experimenting with graphical ini edits.
Steam cloud did this to me before like 7 or so years ago, where every time I closed the game the save was gone and would re-download every time I launched. Idk why this happens but it's too infrequent for me to nag support about it, especially when it solves itself. I've never lost a save so ♥♥♥♥ it i guess
Thanks for the help (or at least trying, and not being a douche nozzle about it
bQualityModeForConsoles=False
