I doubt anyone know for sure, since the devs totally revamped the SP campaign in April. Just keep bribing them if you want, you'll have to conclude the run one way or another, what's the big deal?

I'm trying to save up for all the major assets (penthouse, etc), I feel like it's not gonna be possible if I can't keep bribing cops

You're not meant to extend your campaign to buy all assets in just one campaign (also, I'd use spoiler tags as it's big spoilers for anyone who hasn't unlocked those). You're meant to win multiple times and unlock them progressively.
