how do I plant C4 charges on a car?

I started a mission, where I need to, but... How? Where's the "Hold F to plant C4" button? Or do I need to take C4 in my hands and plant it by myself?

Maybe you have to throw it with G or something

Generally you use throwables with Q, but this seems like one of those missions where you'd have to interact with the objective using F, do you remember how the mission was called?

I'm stuck on the same thing. It's one of those "Attack enemy territory" missions. Nothing I press seems to work. There's a little C4 icon in the bottom right with a "4" next to it but numpad4 and 4 don't do anything, and there's no keybinds about it.

I don't, but you have to explode 4 vans with C4 (it's in your inventory)

The other vehicles have a "F to place c4" so I'm assuming just that one car is bugged.

Spoke too soon. You just need to place the c4 on the back of the sedan instead.
edit: Spoke too soon again, the location seems to vary.

but how? There is no button to do that
Actually, I figured it out, I just had to melee/shoot the van until it explodes. But why do I even need C4 in my inventory?
