How to use C4 on vehicles?

I just did a "destroy vehicles" mission where they told me to plant C4 on the vehicles. It looked like I had a little C4 icon on my HUD, but I couldn't figure out how to actually plant the C4. I figured there would be an area on the cars to interact with, but I didn't see anything. I ended up having to shoot the vehicles to complete the mission. Could have easily missed something obvious since I was in a hurry getting shot at, but if anyone knows what you're supposed to do here I'd appreciate it.

the c4 has to be planted at a specific spot on the vehicles, it will have a c4 outline

So if the mission ever goes loud, the C4 becomes useless. You can't place it, and I don't think you can detonate any C4 you have already placed. Slightly annoying, as up until now the game has been pretty good about stealth progress carrying on into loud.

Its so dumb running around the vehicles trying to place the C4 while people are shooting at you.

least if you f-up you can just shoot the cars instead and it counts. instead of the becoming immortal or running away like the assassinate the captains.

I did a similar mission. I planted all the C4 on the vehicles but something went wrong and broke stealth and all the C4 was useless. There was no detonator marker and had to shoot the vehicles to blow them up.

Also, mobsters can see C4

That means you have to get rid of everyone who might get a line of sight on the C4 if you want to remain in stealth.

Ye. Wondered about the same. Game is good, but this is very bad implemented. Why not be able to blow them up, in stealth or not! Makes no sense!

I would also like it when c4 is planted on all 4 cars and you then still mess up the stealth to be able to blow them up from the designated spot, no real point to need guns to destroy them at this time.

Personally I think doing this quielt is near pointless. Takes forever and even if you succeed and detonate the cars, the escape van STILL takes its sweet time to arrive so you're still stuck in a lengthy shootout.

If I'm going to have to spend a long time to stealth around to plant the charges, the escape van can at least have the decency to arrive before you detonate them.

If you stealth it and c4 explode them, the van comes a lot faster (almost instantly a lot of times) than when you destroy them loud.

If that's the case then Imust have the worst RNG because the van takes so long for me to arrive I might've done it loud from the get go in less than a fifth of the time it took to do it stealthily.
