I recommend using your microphone's mute function as needed.
This is certainly an oversight. That goes for any multiplayer title with in game VOIP.
1 word AWFUL fix this!
Windows 11 even gives you a damn hotkey for Mute: win+alt+K.
Like Windows even gives the cheap microphones people buy at the dollar store an option to mute themselves now, and still people do not.
I have over 2k hours in both GTA and Paladins, both have PTT options and both it's easy to find examples of someone with an open mic blasting music in the background that you then have to mute.
Some people are just too lazy to PTT or PTM; so just learn to mute them and move on with your life.
Why do you have to put up such an argument over something most people agree should be in the game? Are you on some sort of anti-push to talk crusade? Man there always has to be someone to argue just to argue or go against the grain just because.
You realize Push To Mute is just the reverse of PTT; literally everyone on Windows 11 has the option to PTM regardless of game features and isn't using it, so why do you think PTT will change that?
I didn't even get into the types of trolls that blast stuff over PTT because they think it's funny; then you still have to mute even with PTT. Ran into this a lot in The Finals.
No matter how you slice it "I don't want to hear other people" is a poor argument for PTT because PTT will not solve your actual issue.
You want the devs to invest time, not only in this feature, but in making it work with the controller layout, which requires an entire redesign of the controller layout, then make a better argument than "I don't want to hear people" is what I'm saying.
The idea to use a convaluted windows key combo (that honestly I and I'd guess most didn't know existed) as a counter to adding push to talk is ridiculous and controllers easily have enough button options, not that anyone should use a controller for an fps, even if they are on a console on a couch these says.
