over the hill

Okay, you have my attention...
I see potential here. :letsgo:

I'm not that big on offroading, however I do love to explore wild, open countryside. The old game FUEL by Asobo Studios is one of my greatest driving games of all time, not because of the racing, but because it had a giant map which I could just pick a direction and set off, absorbed in the wilderness and the solitude. And I like games such as Euro Truck Sim for the same reason - just relaxing and cruising, seeing the sights, without a care in the world.

Obvious comparison here would be the Spin Tires franchise. But while those games had potential, they sadly didn't work for me due to a myriad of small quirks and design choices which all added up to make the game irritating rather than relaxing. Stuff like the inability to customise controller layout (and the default controls being terrible), artificial difficulty of locking offroad tires behind a levelling system, and a lack of explaining game mechanics in the game itself, forcing the player to tab out to wiki pages to understand it. :steamsad:

But if the map in this game is big enough, and it is sufficiently user-friendly, then I could potentially see myself spending a lot of time here. I'm a little cautious, but I definitely want to follow this to see how it ends up. I wish the devs well on their endeavours, and hope it turns out cool :104::PhogsHappy:
