Is it really that bad, does it have players online?

The reviews are mostly negative, but is it really that bad?
Does it have online players? Dedicated servers, or does it disconnect if the host leave? Can you choose to host yourself, or is it random? Is it riddled with bugs?
Yeah I know its ubisoft, sadly.
But I would love a playable monopoly against other players, and haven't found any other options really.

I just bought it and tried it out because I read the reviews and all they complained about was denuvo/ubisoft connect.

Waited for like 15 minutes and not a single person joined my room. Tried to join a random public room and didn't connect to any. So I played with the AI.

The game is SLOOOOOOWWWWWW with all its little animations and stuff. Just the dice take several seconds to fall and roll around. When you pay money you have to hold a button down while you watch the money float away slowly, and if you let go of the button the money just sits there. Got so tired of waiting on animations that I just quit :\

Have you tried the mobile version? I haven't played it in a long time but I used to have no trouble finding games on there. It's a one-time payment, but it has a million mtx cosmetics in it. But if you don't care about that, you can just buy the base game and play.

OK i was messing up joining a room. Got a room in like 5 seconds when I realized I had to advance to yet another screen. But the room leader kept booting me from the room, and when I tried to connect again, I kept connecting to the same room and getting kicked??

Joined another room finally and the host had a bunch of stupid house rules on lol. Guess this will be my first real game.

I'll hold off on buying it, I like monopoly but if its impossible to get a game going I'll pass.
Some sort of dedicated servers would be nice.
