Fix for crashes while loading on Windows 11 24H2
If your game crashes while loading, disable "Optimizations for Windowed Games" in Settings -> Display -> Graphics. This should fix the issue.

I played for a while, exited, started the game again, now it crashes around 96% while loading any campaign/mission/etc.

Is this game still supported? I have multiple crash dumps (iw7_ship.exe.PID.dmp) to share.

I've tried rebooting, deleting the shader cache, reinstalling the graphics driver, nothing helps.

I'm using Windows 11 24H2. I have no antivirus running, Windows Defender is totally disabled.

Having the same issue on WIndows 11 24H2. Can't load into the first mission, crashes when the planet is shown during the cutscene.

It could be that the latest cumulative Windows 24H2 update broke the game but I've got no desire to debug the issue. Hopefully someone will find a workaround.

Can you try uninstalling KB5043080 and see if it helps?

It wouldn't help. I've had the version before this and it was still crashing.

Sigh :-(

How come only the two of us have this problem though? Or the game is so bad no one plays it any more?

It's a pretty old COD title at this point. Funny enough, it ran for me without this issue just a month or two ago. I've switched from and Intel to and AMD CPU since then, so I was wondering if that may be the cause. Out of curiosity, are you on AMD or Intel?

I have an AMD Zen 3 based CPU but it's hard to believe it has anything to do with the issue.

I have collected 5 memory dumps for the game but darn I'm not a developer to run them through a debugger and at least understand what code is failing.

BTW, the exception code 0xC00000FD means:

STATUS_STACK_OVERFLOW

A new guard page for the stack cannot be created.

But I've no idea what to do next.

Having same problem. All drivers up to date.

So I recently had to do a clean install of Windows 11 (24H2) after a BIOS update messed it up. Out of curiosity I tried running this game again, and it works flawlessly. No crashes, smooth frames.

I've been getting constant freezes either playing zombies or on the main menu. Tried re-installing drivers and the game and no fix.

Nevermind, back to crashing when trying to load the check point during the parade in the first mission.

Having the same problem. Nothing seems to help with the updated OS.

Seems there's no solution for this, I'm having the same issues. I got everything updated, I don't know what's causing this issue
