Shouldn't have to. Maybe adding it as an exception yes... but disabling a major antivirus program to allow one game should have been something they saw coming.

Can't help on that one. Good luck. I managed to make it work with AVG by adding the exception to the firewall and adding the exception of the folder to the anti virus...

I did see where someone claimed to have made it work by disabling windows defender.

After I uninstalled AVG I also had to deactivate Windows Defender or else the game would have major problems loading its assets.

Only problem i ran in was the default video setting making this game look so bad xD

Fixed after setting video options to my liking . Run mcaffee and didnt have any issues , yet !

Yea. I think for some other reason I had previously disabled Windows Defender in the past. So it wasn't an issue for me.
