Movement problem?
When I am moving forward and I press strafe left or right, I stop moving forward - until I let go of forward button, and I have to press it again to continue moving.

Is this part of the game, or is there a setting I have missed? Please tell me it's just me and not part of the game. :steamsalty:

This is a big issue for me too, I hope this is not by game design and it's an actual bug that will be fixed, because if not then I will have a really bad time playing the so far excellent campaign.

It's not part of the game or the way it was designed. It's just an issue with the arrow keys. there's a workaround to temporarily fix this issue, that was posted a couple of days ago.

I figured out a temporary work around if you guys are interested:

Look for a free program called SharpKeys, you can get it from CNET and a few other places. Run it and click add, it will give you a list of keys to change, select each arrow key and rebind it to the corresponding WASD key. After that you just save it registry, reboot and you can play without the movement lag issues. Sucks having to fix our own games but at least you can play the game without getting killed now.

I have the program, how do i do this now?

Once it's installed, go to "Add" on the bottom left, it will open a window. On the left side under "Map this key (From key):" you should see the arrow keys near the top of the list. Select the first one which I think was left arrow, then go to the list on the right where it says, "To this key (To Key):" and find "Key: A". Then click Okay. Do this for all 4, so up arrow would be the W key, down arrow the S key, left arrow the A key and right arrow the D key. Once you have all 4, back at the main menu where you first clicked "Add", to the right it says "Write to Registry". Click that and then reboot, once you reboot you can test to make sure it worked by opening Notepad and pressing your arrow keys...they should type the W,A,S and D keys when you press them. Now just go into the game and make sure the movement keys are set to WASD and you should be good to go. To make your arrow keys back to normal, just go back into SharpKeys and click "Delete All", then Write To Registry again and reboot. [/quote]

You can get it from here https://sharpkeys.codeplex.com/

I am currently using this and it works great, if you want to give it a try.

whoa dude, I won't be doing that, just to play the game, I think I'll wait for the imminent patch. This is such a trivial issue, they must know about it by now.

The thing is even if I use the default wsad keys I still get this issue, so I don't think going through this much hassle will fix it.

Thanks for the help anyway.

Yea, I would say they know about it as lots of people have been reporting. Hopefully a new patch should reach us very soon.

yeah fallout 4 key binding was always messed up, that's why they probably removed the keypad binding altogether, I discovered this just yesterday when I played the game again after half a year or so...
