cd keys????

I got a pre order key and it said it's a european key...i'm from Canada and it didn't tell me it was a pre order key until today. Will a European key still work on my account or do I have to get a refund now? :/

Looking at Steam database suggests they can only be activated from an IP address in UK or EU. There's no sign of a play lock though (unlike on Russia, etc., keys), so once activated they should be playable anywhere in the world.

i guess you get your cd- keys in your steamlibrarey when the game is live or its activated per automatic

You wont get VAC banned, but using a VPN to mask your country of origin to redeem keys bought from illegal grey market resellers is a great way to get your account banned.

I'm from Europe and i have activated some US keys without any problems or VPN. They may say US or EU when you activate them, but most of them are region free. You should try when you get the key.

I ended up just getting a refund and getting it for steam. Thanks for the help guys.
