[SOLVED] Game crashing all the time
Hello guys, I bought this game a long time ago, and finally, I got my new computer. It is equipped with a GTX 1080 (not overclocked), an Intel i7 8700, 16GB of RAM DDR4 at 3200MHz... Basically, a high-end PC.

The problem is, Call of Duty keeps crashing. No matter what I do, it wont work properly. I already checked the integrity of game files, I uninstalled the game 2 times, I putted the game graphics' at low, and I checked if there was anything wrong with my computer doing some cleaning on Windows, and using Afterburner to monitor my PC while playing. The problem may be caused by the excesive VRAM usage, when the game crashes, I check the VRAM usage and it's above 6GB!!!! My card "only" has 8GB, but apparently, this software likes eating VRAM like there wasn't a tomorrow.

Can you help me pls? I would apprecitate that a lot, this game sure looks pretty fun.

You could as well try this... If this doesn't work too when you start infinite warfare open the task manager and set your process to use a single core ( iw7.exe -> right mouse -> set affinity -> leave a single core unchecked )

Also you could try if none of them worked to play this on windowed mode and/or reinstall Dx11 from your steamapps _commonredist folder

Last possible attempt I can think of for a fix would be to look for a config.ini / settings.ini file and try to increase the number of threads if there's such a file and option.

Most of the time it's just an Antivirus problem. Just try turning it off when you play or if you don't want to, just add IW's executable to exceptions list (whitelist or something)

I already turned off Windows Defender (the antivirus software I use), but it doesn't seem to help. Also, I added the Infinite Warfare executable to the exception list. Thanks for the help anyway!

If you're having this problem while on Windows 10 try setting Focus assist to alarms only or just disable it. Somebody managed to fix it this way.

Right mouse while on desktop > Display settings > Focus assist ( side panel ) > Try playing with different configurations of this setting.

Ok I'll try that.

Let us know!

So, I had it on Disabled, because I already tried that with other Infinite Warfare tutorials, now I'm tweaking some of this settings to see if it improves. I'll post a comment later on!

Ok, I've already tried every single option in the Focus assist tab. Nothing has changed. It's pretty strange tho, because many days ago, the game crashed with a rendering error, like DirectX has encountered a problem, or, failed to create 2DTexture, but now, the game crashes without leaving any error message, like if you had killed the task in the task manager... I don't think that's normal, every other game like Battlefield, Grand Theft Auto, Half Life and more, works properly without any issue, even playing for a long time. Thanks for helping anyway!

Wow man, you're amazing! Thank you so much for putting that much effort into trying to fix my problem! I'll comment if this goes well.

No problem with that, there must be a solution somewhere! Anyway tomorrow I won't be home til like the same time of my first answer to this post for (I hope no need for that) additional support!

I wait for your news!

I have created a paging file of 8GB in my HDD (the unit where I have my COD game installed). Let's see if that works!
Marcdingo Feb 12, 2019 @ 2:03pm
OMFG! OMFG! DUDE! THAT WORKED! THIS TIME I WAS ABLE TO FINISH MY FIRST MATCH IN LIKE 6 MONTHS! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Oh, and I ended 17-5, not bad for not playin' for a long time :P Dude, the paging file method works! Finally! Oh man... This is one of the best COD games ever (at least for PC), although it is one of the most underrated games of the franchise. Oh man... Thank you, I'm f*cking crying right now, after 6 devilish months of watching forums, outdated YouTube tutorials, reinstalling drivers every single week, DDUing them after that... Omg... Thank you... thank... you... <3

Sometimes we could even play together if you wish! Glad it worked!

Can somebody tell me why i cant find a match for this game i thought there was 250 ish people still playing it?
OMG iTz OVER Feb 13, 2019 @ 8:17am
Sometimes the matchmaking gets a little bit buggy. When it happens you could try restarting your internet and computer. Usually it helps. Other times you just have to wait before it "fixes" (couple of minutes usually are enough)
