Can't even open IW zombies

Every time I try to open the zombies menu, IW crashes and gives me "Error while opening initial menu". I've reinstalled the game, and even tried running the game in its own 'safe mode', but it's still not working. Any tips or ideas on what could be causing this?

or there is a problem about with the two toc cache files located in the

steamapps/common/IW/main folder,

you can delete, move or rename them and restart steam, if you get an ingame update when starting IW, you know that was the problem,

you may need to renew firewall rules for both windows firewal and any antivirus program firewal, then regrant access when starting the game (use ALT+enter to see task bar)

in the case of getting an ingame update you may need to restart the game a second time after renewing and granting access to the game to get connected.

I've tried everything you stated, nothing worked. It did update the game upon deletion of the two files you specified, afterwhich I even restarted my pc just to make sure, but it's still giving me the same error.

for me it worked by setting the option from fullscreen to windowed fullscreen

I've entirely beaten the campaign, and have played multiple zombie games. I bought the $80 version of the game that included MWR, so that really shouldn't be possible.

I've posted a support thread on Activision's forums, but the only reply I've received so far has been to validate my files, which didn't yield any results. As for a mp ban, haven't been banned, and can still play mp just fine.

I have this same problem, it started right after I equipped a sandwich on my pistol and made some other customizations. Any way to unequip or reset guns from outside of the zombies mode?

I'm really sorry man, it's been so long since I had this issue, and I haven't touched the game in so long. I do believe eventually a patch at the time of playing fixed it for me, as I do remember eventually playing and having fun with it though. So I don't really know what could be causing it for you

i think the only fix fo this is to have some1 invite lobby n you have to unequip every gun attachments n default loadout like u play first time
