liked it more than the last 3 Killzone and far more than Mass Effect 3 so there's that.
IW is very much different from it. Feels a bit like a mixture of Mass Effect 3 and Killzone 3. But its better imo both in presentation and gameplay. Story ain't bad either.
The first half hour is a bit meh but then it becomes good and towards the later half really good.
IW feels like a mixture of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with cow puke, with a ♥♥♥♥ cherry. Avoid this piece of ♥♥♥♥.
you're in the wrong forum talking about the wrong game. Here:

This looks and feels like what you describe.
IW doesn't have multiplayer story, but what it has is great. Don't skip on the side missions as those are great ( especially the flight ones, I loved those ).
Also, Ethan ( the robot ) is one of my most loved characters, and at points had me laughing my *** off.
Long story short, yes, the story is great, and FYI, steam forums for CoD games are filled with trolls and haters.
took me seven at first time and I kind of rushed it a bit... played it a second time and then attempted specialist difficulty but its too hardcore. Specialist introduces realistic health systhem. Like get hit in the leg and you can't walk normally. Get hit in the arm and you can't aim and so on. Health packs that get you back in shape and a helmet to protect you from headshots and ofc provides you with air.
Its not one of those throwaway campaigns that you play once and then never again. The free weapon selection before each mission is neat too.
