Just make sure you map the 47 keys and the mouse to your deck controller and all will be fine.
Having played through Roth a fair few times I think the steam deck will actually have enough mappable inputs (the game certainly doesn't need 47 lol)
And the dual track pad should also easily be used to play.
So if dosbox does run in Linux well its probably going to be a good way to play - only concern is screen resolution as if I remember correctly it required a small mod to output over 640 X 480 last time I played.
