Educate me about the creature "PuPu"

pupu looks so familiar and yet i don't think i've seen pupu in any of the FF games i have played, unless they are in FF 7 or 8. i skipped those.

can't handle all those polygons!

Pupu is from FF8.
Pupu was an "hidden" monster that the player could track down by chasing down UFO across several areas.

I remember playing 8 with my friend and seeing that random spaceship flying in the background of the battle screen and us just thinking it was some silly easter egg. Nice of them to bring it back but now I have to go replay 8.

They are in FF8 as encounterable monsters and a triple triad card, in Dissidia as summons in X as one of Lulu's dolls, in X-2 as one of Rikku's dolls and as the save icon in the menory card screen, they appear on a can in palumpolum in XIII and also appear in various sidegames. It's no surprise that you would recognise them.
