Anyone else not like Noel?

Kinda bums me out that after having 6 characters in FF13 we've now got 2 and a pokemon system. Noel is annoying me. His face looks...odd, i'm not sure why, possibly his jaw, those shorts that might aswell be a skirt look idiotic and, on a more gameplay side of things his Blitz animation is just stupid and makes it not really an ideal skill to use.

Whilst we're on the subject of his skills, it seems his buffs don't last at all. I even have the accesory that gives him extended buff times yet after i've thrown up a protectga, shellga and veilga they're pretty much one full ATB away from starting to wear off. Also it seems unless i'm actually controlling Noel directly, when he's in the syn role he will opt for casting the singular versions of the spells instead of the party variant which I find a bit weird

I like him so far. He's not the typical cheery or emo protagonist, he's actually balanced.

Actually he reminds me of Sora from KH if he matured a ♥♥♥♥ ton.

As for the clothes they remind me of Fangs which fits since he's Pulse born.

Oddly enough I was saying to my partner how I wouldn't be surprised if he wound up in KH3 as "everything about him screams Kingdom Hearts"

Indeed lol.

I just feel I've seen worse characters personally especially in these types of games littered with Japanese cliches, I can't really pin one on him so it's rather refreshing imo.

Pretty much all characters in FF-XIII trilogy are pretty much idiots, childish, and unlikable, terrible dialogue doesn't help either. But for me, that is what makes the game great, it's so stupid it is awesome. I don't think anyone takes any of these characters/plot seriously, SE definitelly doesn't.

Noel reminds me... Yuna from FFX.
And I don't like Serah in some foreshortening. It looks like her whole bottom half of the face is moved too forward (or the upper part is moved backward) And I don't like the way they draw NPCs (common citizens). They are like from FFX (hello, Nomura), their faces are strange, Eyes are very high, foreheads are too thin.

Speak for yourself. Many people take the characters seriously.

by the end id say hes one of the better characters in the 13 trilogy, tho thats not saying much. didnt care for him much at the beginning either, but he grew on me.
