If you didn't like the gameplay of 13, and I'm going to assume you mean the combat, then you might only be slightly more impressed by 13-2's combat, as it is more of the same, but improved. It is an updated system next to the first game, only since you've only got Serah and Noel to play with, your third slot is taken up by a capturable monster. And collecting monsters to use in your party roster is incredibly endearing and rewarding on its own!
Even if you didn't like 13 for its linearity, but stuck through the whole thing, I'd still recommend 13-2 for how much it improved on the original.
