so is it worth getting?
I know people have been complaing about bad port of 13.
But now it seems to be getting fixed, do you thinks both ff 13 and 13-2 are worth the money?
I want to see some opinion before i make my decision.

Well, assuming the port is at least decent:

I'd say it is at this price point. The game is certainly a bit more open than the first, and the monster allies are kind of fun to raise and use. The overall system is easier to use, and the main story isn't all that bad(at worst, it's painless). The DLC is fairly fun, so that adds a bit of value since it's all packaged into it. The story itself is a bit of a mess, but it has a few good moments.

The games themselves are good , the problem is the quality of the port pretty much.

My advice would be wait , IF and only IF SE actually delivers a fix , then bother buying , if the next patch isnt enough you lost nothing anyway.

Also if you wait , there is a chance you can grab it on sale during winter , even if FF sales are usually bad , there is a chance on 20% :P.

I've already pre ordered, and I didn't like the first port. Some would say I'l stupid, but my unfaltering faith in Square got me these ports in the first place soooooooo

Definitely. If your worried about the price, don't. It's lower now than in the past. And considering Steam Sales; (cough Winter + Summer), you could get them even more cheaper.

13:
Imo, it's the other way around. I have no problem with the port, but I think it's a bad game. Very linear and repetitive.

13-2:
I hear it's way better, but I have no first-hand experience with it at all. Will read posts here before deciding.

thx for your opinions.
it seems wise to wait a bit and see what community think of coming fixes.

From what I've read in reviews, XIII-II has an openworld and over all better gameplay than the previous one. I might even consider getting this one after they sort out some bugs and port issues... also waiting for 75% discount

People who complain about the port quality of XIII are just spoiled. Back in the good old days of PC gaming (about 10 years ago, maybe a bit more), the default resolution of games was 1024x768, and you would be lucky to find a game with a resolution higher than that. All this complaining about graphic options is understandable, I didn't like having non-standard options for even games back in the 90's, but calling it a ♥♥♥♥ port just because of that issue, that and the ESC issue + it using controllers (/eyeroll at keyboard warriors who hate controllers), is a bit juvenile.

I recommend playing with Xbox controller. Keyboard is horrible.

They promise!

We're happy to announce the specs FFXIII-2 will be supporting.

■US/PAL version
- Custom resolutions
- Graphic options
- 60fps
XIII-2 is definitely the good one of the XIII sub-series.
