Final Fantasy XIII-2 Mog Throw

Having no response on either the keyboard or the game controller on being able to throw the little guy (aka my weapon) This is what i have done to try and fix the problem
I have remapped the key to throw to every key on the board that i can set it to and no throwing of mog is available i recently bought a gaming controller for the pc alone not a combo for xbox360
The controller works great with the game but no mog throw still I also have restarted the game in different settings just to see if the bug would go away i have even changed the speaking language just to see if that would help baring in mind i know that if would not any help with this problem would be a great help

you need to reach a certain point in the game to unlock the mog throw skill I think, maybe sunleth waterscape 300 AF
