Black Screen after Square Enix Logo?
So I bought this game two days ago and played it last night. Other than some slight screen tearing, it ran fine. I decided to browse the internet to fix the screen tearing and implemented some of the solutions. I run the game again, and it goes straight to a black screen after the square enix logo. wtf.
Is there any real fix to this? BTW, I have a high-end pc and i'm 100% sure it's not a fps issue, it's just the issue of launching the game itself. Here's a list of the things i've done (in no specific order):
1. Reinstalled...
2. FFXIII-2 launcher changes (compatibility mode, DPS, run as admin)
3. Nvidia control panel changes to .exe file
4. Verifying/Validating game cache

That's very strange, what are your specs?

Have you got Data Execution Prevention turned off? And are you using ANY programs that monitor the framerate? Also, do you have Steam Cloud Saving enabled? All of those cause this game to crash or black screen sometimes. Let me know!

I exhausted my options... I left it on the black screen and it finally loaded up the game after about 5-10 minutes. I've never seen a game do that. Thanks for the help though! I'm sure i'm probably going to need to do some performance optimization now.

I solved the problem by using USB headphones instead of my normal sound boxes and verified it 3 times. USB in, playable, USB out, Black Screen. So it must be the sound drivers or the sound output device, but who knows...

Scratch that. Same as one above here i left in on and after 10 minutes it loaded. Tested it several times now and it loads after 6-10 minutes each time. Wierd ♥♥♥♥.

I believe there was a workaround on the black screen. I haven't played it in months but I think you go to your Final Fantasy game---->Properties---->Set Launch Options--->Insert "-novid"
It skips the intro video (I think there was a slight pause or something?) but you don't have to wait the 5-10 minutes. Hope it works for you!
