crashing at academia 400 AF

I reached this area yesterday and I choose to go on the right path on the map but after I finish the 1st set of rooms,the game crashed with no error message or anything.
I learned after that having an fps monitoring tool like fraps could cause the game to crash

I tried again(with no fraps this time),did the same things and tried to save my game before moving on but then the game crashed while it saved with no error message again.

I've been using the fps unlocker,costume unlocker and rain fix mods if that's of any importance.

I thought of validating the game files and it's now downloading 1.6gb.

what could cause those crashes like that?
is it that particular area?
It's crashed once or twice before during random loading screens but not like that...and in the same place as well.

here's my system

windows 10 pro 64bit
AMD FX 6300
AMD 7850
8gb RAM

Maybe trying it without fps unlocker? I used the unlocker before and it was causing some of the crashes for me. I'm not using the unlocker anymore, and since then my game runs more or less good for me.

i just beat acadamia 400 AF two days ago, with those exact fixes.

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
FPS unlocker
Rain Fix
Costume Unlocker
+difficulty mod.

But, i'd copy the exe and other files to a folder, and then restore standard files and see. I applied fixes once or twice and it made my game crash. I don't know why it would suddenly do that though.

well after validating the files and not using any mods,I was able to continue through academia and the fps isn't all that bad.

if fps gets very ugly in the game world,I just switch off the mini map for a sec and it becomes butter smooth which is pretty stupid if you think about it.
if there was no ui during battles,we would all get like a billion fps.
I guess it uses something like autodesk scaleform for the ui and that one just completely destroys fps.

if there was a mod to change how the ui works then I think it would help a lot.

only thing that bugs me right now is that the original rain really looks like falling daggers of death....not cool

well I spoke too soon...it crashed again twice in academia

once while I tried to save the game
and once after the bridge got destroyed and had reached the exclamation mark on my map (I think I was approaching a portal,thats what the characters said) while it tried to load

both crashes happened while it was trying to load a cinematic or trying to save.

it isn't the mods...what could be causing this?!

This is likely a dead topic, but did you ever solve this problem? I'm playing it now and I'm crashing in the same area as you.

Same for me now. I crashed while in Academia 400, now it won't load at all. Loaded save, turned off cloud saving, saved locally then reloaded the game... nothing. Unreal the amount of unfixed crashes this port has.

Yeah I'm having the same problem...I've crashed twice in Academia 400 so far.

Usually disabling steam cloud and the 4gb patch solve the majority of crashing problems people have

The 4gb patch fixed the game for me. You should give it a try. I now play with Steam cloud enabled.

Take this as a gift. Academia 400 is in the top big 3 of most hated timelines in this game

Fixed the game for me as well now I never crash.

The 4GB patch by itself fixed it for me.
Windows 10, 16GB RAM, i6600K, R380X
