Is there anyone that HASN'T had a problem with this?
I keep hemming and hawing about buying this damn game on Steam or Windows. I know on Windows it works fine because I tried it when it was on Game Pass. But here all I see are complaints in the comments.

Anyone actually have a smooth experience with this darn game and didn't have to install some kind of fix or mod? I'd prefer getting it here to go with my copy of FFXIII, and the achievements.

Without fixes and mods, I doubt that. Even if there is, I've yet to see anyone provides factual data of their "smooth as butter" experience.

While XIII worked out of the box for me, I did have to install at least one third party fix on this one. I installed a few more since I didn't know what exactly I'd need, plus one that unlocked additional outfits, but most of them were probably not needed.

After that, while the crashes were gone, it still had the massive audio issues. I never figured out how to get rid of these, and just put my entire box to "stereo" while I was playing this.

I just installed the 4 GB patch because it's an old game (little tool that patches x86 executables in order to let them have 4GB (instead of only 2) of virtual memory on x64 platforms).
And I've never had any problems, either with the game or the sound.

Thanks guys. :dsfist:
i had some smooth experiense after apling ff13-2-fix but then later my fullscreen started to minimize itself then it was i fullscreen but i can also se the desktop in my ubuntu 22.04-04 dekstop but i can still play the game why it minimizes itself i got no idea
4GB patch, FF13 fix to go 60+fps. 2560x1440 and 4092 shadows I get between 120-90fps contently fluctuating on a 3080
Yeah, I’m running it just fine with the fixes. Smooth sailing. :LLAP:
the game is so slow on exclusive fullscreen so putting it in borderless fullscreen mode frees some fps for some reason at the cost of more shimmering. dropping the shadows to the 2048 setting frees up 10 fps. ff13fix mod, vsync to -1, triple buffering to 0 and fps to -1 gets you to at least 30fps. then you can use lossless scaling's frame insertion to double that fps. im using dx12 mode on dgvoodoo2 but theres also dxvk to turn the game into vulkan. I am on rog ally
works on my machine.

barely works on mine, did all the fixes, and limping along
works perfectly here. 4GB patch, Steam Cloud disabled.

I was able to run XIII with GeToSaDo (or whatever it was) at 4k 30 with my old 270x. I was able to run 2 fine on windows 7 I believe but ever since I went to 10 I've had problems. Broken audio, crashes, REALLY bad performance (game jarringly jumping back and forth between a 60 fps lock and a 30 fps lock), and it really pisses me off because I never got a PS3 when they were new and I just want to play this trilogy in peace. 3 works fine as well to add salt to the wound.
No issues in vanilla but I have a decent rig so IDK.
