Historia Crux Question
In some areas of the Historia Crux there are smaller gates, ones you dont' seem to be able to unlock or use in any way.

Do these serve any purpose?

Can you visit them later on, or do they serve some other function?

For reference sake, look between the gates leading to the Bresha Ruins, 5 AF and the Sunleth Waterscape 300 AF. There is one of these "smaller gates" in there. There is another one between Oerba, 200 Af and Yaschas Massif 01X AF.

i dont think you can go back to them but they do represent the times you stoped at valhalla and had a chat with eachother and had to enter the anomoly to do some puzzles. maybe when you reset gates you can travel to those areas again but idk, ive never reset any gates yet

There are two types of gate in the game. ones that require a specific artifact to open (normally gotten via story related quests). and ones that need Wild Artifacts to open.

When you reset a zone all it dose is reset the story progress for that zone and you can play though it again, even if it takes you somewhere you can't normally get to from the historia crux.

If you go to the Historia Crux, you can see the map of all of the gates.

Please note the circle between 005 AF Bresha Ruins and 300 AF Sunleth Waterscape.

This is the structure I am talking about, what is that?

As you can see another one is between 200 AF Oerba and 01X Yashcas Massif.
As well as 300 AF Sunleth Waterscape and ??? Collisseum,
And many others.

What are those circles?

ohh those, they indicate where the timeline has split/changed due to a paradox or resolving of a paradox. for example when you go along the story you get to -010 af- yascahas massif, thats when a paradox is in effect and is the prime time line. once you complete 200 af Oerba it fixed the paradox creating a different timeline. that -01x af- yaschas massive which is the new time line.

Yes, I can see it in your example.

But I don't see how 300 AF Sunleth Waterscape is an alternate time to 5 AF Breasha Ruins.

Are you saying every circle is a split in the the timeline. That makes sense, becuase according the map almost all of them split into paradox endings as well.

Not that I know, I only made it up to 300AF Sunleth Waterscape. Then I went all the way up to the Augusta Tower before going down toward the 300 AF Bresha Ruins.

I also tried to get into Serendipity, but the fornt door was locked. How do I unlock it?

-005 AF- has a paradox ending, so you either complete it right by taking out the weakend giant, or you do it wrong by killing it when its at full power and end up in the past during a great war.

as for serendipity i think you need a casino ticket, one of which should be in a chest near the time gate.
