Was the terrible PC port ever fixed?
The game itself is pretty alright but the PC port for the one I have is absolute and utter ♥♥♥♥. (Why I havent bought it.)

I mean how do you expect people to buy a game when it runs as bad as EA's marketting system.

So did they ever fix it? I want to run the game at 60-120 fps with no frame drops and no lag as I should with a boosted 1060 and a I7-4790k CPU.

Game performance is pretty poor all-round sadly, the game ran dreadfully on the PS3 and X360 too.

There are a few things you could try here, although although you may well have already have tried some of them:

I have to press ctrl + alt + delete then cancel to make the game un freeze lmao. im a bit dissapointed ill have to look for a way to get it running

Okay thanks! Yea the first one wasnt nearly as bad as this, this one will literally drop to 20 fps down to even 10 fps sometimes even though I dont go over 20 percent GPU power. Its incredible they let this BS happen and never fixed it and then they wonder why pirating is a thing.

I have it running now there was a thread about a 4gb Patch seemed to do wonders for the game. Its a shame the community has to fix these games. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1221218362

The weird thing about FF13-2 is the fact my Windows 7 had terrifying problems playing it correctly. All of the constant crashing was a thing.

Then, after I moved to Windows 10, everything is stable...? I want to think the 1080 didn't have anything to do with it, but getting the game to run well might just be a GPU thing. All of the crashing however? I really think it's a Windows problem.

Also, the engine that 13 and 13-2 were made on (Crystal Tools) was optimized for PS3. Even on there, there was a lot of framerate issues.

Yeah I tried to switch Compatibily to windows 7 and the game was all jacked up even the launch screen. The game is so poorly optimized 13 a little less so but both games for me suffer screen tearing diagnialy when running in 1444p for some reason but 1080 and 4k is fine. 1080 and 4k had the same frame rate issues in the same places so I played it in 4k and turned down the MSAA since at 4k its not needed.

This game I did lock it at 4k@30fps and it seems stable for now but not prefurable I much rather 60. I am using a oled c7 and at 1080p it should be able to do 120hz but the game just wont go past 60 no idea its frame locked but it apears that it could be.

Depends on the computer runs smooth as butter on mine, of course sometimes it does crash, that's probably the worst thing about it. Course so do bethesda games.

If it does crash then it doesn't "run smooth as butter".

Bethesda games dont crash unless modded badly, at least not for me. Nor did this game crash when I played it. The problem was the terrible frames and lag to a point to where I almost found it unplayable.

Bethesda games though did require a beefy computer, you didnt have any frame problems with a good one.

Thanks everyone for your comments but I already decided not to buy the game due to its many problems. As I said before, games like this one with terrible design and port support is why pirating exists and why people are starting to play PC games more.

Running smooth framerate and performance wise, but butter can still go splat on the floor.

Sure, crashing because of terrible port certainly isn't the game "performance".

There's been a fix since 2014... I get steady 60FPS with these settings, except for a few very busy locations.

Unfortunately, some of those settings don't work on modern GPUs. For example, CSAA has been disabled since the 900 series, and setting AA mode to Override causes major graphical glitches with eyelashes and hair.
