4 GB patch
Someone said there is a 4GB patch. Did Steam add this or is it something I need to get separately to help stop the game crashing and if so where do I get it?

It's not a steam thing, just a third party tool that patches the game

Just be sure to patch the correct executable (which is also mentioned in the post - some people do patch the launcher by mistake which doesn't fix anything).

The first part of that post by the way is a reference to the fact that also disabling steam cloud for the game can help too.
