Don Tonberry build?
Hes adorable and i want to use him. Iv looked it up but no one provides the fusion steps to maximize his chaser abilities. I have very little idea how infusion works and dont know how to derive the steps to take, could anyone help me?

This is the build i found: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/619315-final-fantasy-xiii-2/61944210

Although if there is a better build im open to it

Just make sure you don't need him for any ravager builds, his quick staggers a good infusion for other ravagers.

I wanna build him up soon myself, since almost every build needs tonberry.

Reason I say that is cause of this infusion for ravager lightning.

Infuse in this order:

01) Lv. 04 Gancanagh Ace <-- Lv. 01 Gancanagh
02) Lv. 29 Breshan Bass <-- Lv. 48 Green Chocobo
03) Lv. 29 Breshan Bass <-- Lv. 23 Mewmao
04) Lv. 29 Breshan Bass <-- Lv. 24 Tonberry (only for Strength build)
05) Lv. 29 Breshan Bass <-- Lv. 54 Forked Cat
06) Lv. 29 Breshan Bass <-- Lv. 22 Tonberry (only for Magic build)
07) Lv. 13 Lightning <-- Lv. 26 Don Tonberry
08) Lv. 13 Lightning <-- Lv. 19 Fencer
09) Lv. 13 Lightning <-- Lv. 02 Ceratoraptor
10) Lv. 13 Lightning <-- Lv. 30 Pink Lily (learn Aerora, Fira)
11) Lv. 13 Lightning <-- Lv. 30 Frag Leech
12) Lv. 13 Lightning <-- Lv. 30 Frag Leech
13) Lv. 13 Lightning <-- Lv. 04 Gancanagh Ace
14) Lv. 13 Lightning <-- Lv. 29 Breshan Bass

Additional Abilities:

Blizzara----------------: Lv. 01 Cryohedron or Lv. 07 Mud Frog
Thundara----------------: Lv. 01 Circuitron
Firaga------------------: Lv. 15 Bomb
Blizzaga----------------: Lv. 15 Cryohedron
Aeroga------------------: Lv. 15 Tempest
Vigor-------------------: Infuse 13 levels worth of COM monsters

As you can see dons one of the infusions and I'm not sure if there's a substitute or not, but just letting you know in case you still might wanna use don for the infusion. I wanna optimize him soon as well, love those beedy red eyes, but I might wanna finish a few ravagers first.

Personally i dont intend to use lightning. I dont like using characters as my 3rd in the party, it takes away from the pokemon-esque feel of using a monster. Ill likely use cloudburst if i need to, but if not ill probably build an underrated but still good rav since i also dislike going meta (hence why i also want to use don. Currently i use a fully optimized proto behemoth)

Although if i had a save editor to use id rather use regular Tonberry. Hes more nostalgia based for me

Yea the infusion systems a little strange and kinda excludes some builds, which could be fixed if they'd at least let us recruit doubles.

I was gonna make a dreadnaught spent a lot of time farming adam for generators just to find out I need him for don tonberrys infusion, so I had to release my dreadnaught. Dreadnaught and don tonberry are the two ones I'm I'm actually waiting on till I get everyone i want out of the way.

Don't feel to bad tho least don tonberrys a cool variant.

Yea, hes pretty neat. I was gunna build a Dreadnought myself but i had such terribe luck recruiting one (50+ kills and nothing) so i moved on. I also really want to build Typhon, but ik hes pretty bad. Itd be nice if a pc save editor existed so i could modify Typhon and make him melee based instead of him spamming ruin, it makes no sense to me that a super buff monster thing rarely uses its physical strength

Yea all the typhon builds I read said he was best with ruin and I'm not sure what a melee ones like but I thought about that as well.
Also I had the same issue as you with dreadnaught towards black chocobo there, really this games monster hunting mechanics are a bit odd. Certain monsters appear in certain spots easier I find. The dreadnaught seems to show up more towards the northern most part in vile peaks, around where those two tower like things you hop back and forth on, just dont jump off the cliff area or you'll have to cycle around again. I find they are easiest to spot there. As for the black chocobos hotspot, I have no idea that one took me forever to find.

I know a lot of good monster hotspots tho if you can't find one let me know I'll see if I can help.
Dreadnaught looked really cool and huge in battle I really wanna get to that one eventually. I'd say he's probably the biggest monster, probably bigger than omega. Not sure if he's bigger than the gigantaur types but he looks like it to me in combat due to how wide and massive it is and how much screen room it takes up. The one I made looked promising but I want a really good don tonberry and it said I needed him so... Guess I'll worry about dread later.
