Equiping Collector's Catalog & Connoisseur Catalog together

Will they hinder each other? I'm doing adam. farming, and some trapezohedrons would be nice.

Until now i had only collector equiped on easy mode. That mean pretty much a 100% chance of getting ingots. Now i want to change it up a little. Set it to normal (since i got higher rare drop rate that way, right?) and equipped both catalogs. Defeated 2 adamantortoises until now and no drops.

Bonus question: difference between adamantortoise and adamantoise? Except better stats and stagger threshold? Same droprate...right?

Connoisseur Catalog will slightly hinder Collector Catalog since the game checks for rare drops first and you only get one rare or common drop, never both. In the case of Adamantoise, the difference is negligible.

If you're willing to use easy mode for farming, don't bother trying to farm Trapezohedrons. Just buy one, and then use the weapon upgrade/dismantle trick to multiply it if you want more. With the 90%+ drop rate on Ingots you make gil fast enough for it to be worth the expense.

Adamantoise and Adamantortoise have the same drop rates. At 5 stars on normal, you have a 5% chance at a Trapezohedron (5.5% with Connoisseur Catalog) and a 25% chance at an Ingot (37.5% with Collector Catalog). If you want to farm Trapezohedrons on normal, you're best off killing Long Gui for them, since they have a 25% drop rate (27.5% with the Catalog).

I'm off to triplicate traps then...farmed together 3mil gil so far on easy...it's boring, but i really want to 100% this sh*t :)
