Fixing audio/voice issues!

So on day one here lots of people are having some problems getting the voice acting to work.
So, to the problem that people seem to be having. Many people are giving different solutions and I am going to try and consolidate some of them here.

1. Restart the game/your computer.
2. Run the game as an administrator.
3. Change your audio options in your PC.
4. Go to the control pannel
5. Do not press any buttons during the opening cutscene (I don't see how this could do anything)

First off, I am using headphones but also have a 2.1 speaker setup, neither had the voices working. For me the solution was to go into my Realtek HD Audio Maanager for my MSI motherboard, and change my audio setup. I use a 2.1 system for my PC (using the 5.1 surround sound setting on Realtek) http://imgur.com/D1C0GsK
The fix for me was to either change my settings to a standard Stereo setup http://imgur.com/1GbmCCW
Or to turn off the center speaker on my settings (I dont use a center speaker, so that must have been where the sound was trying to go through initially) http://imgur.com/CL4J56G

To change to Japanese from English (as the spoken language with english subtitles) do so on the start up menu when you first boot up the game. But that is not what this is about.

For me it helped when i chanced my audio setup from 7.1 to 2.1 and restarted my computer and the game. Now I can hear all the cutscenes perfectly! I don't use speakers and I have a 2.1 speaker setup.

how can i fix the voices problem that i only hear faint voices in XIII-2? i have it already on stereo and still i only can hear faint voices

I'm having an issue with the entire audio just going away at times and having to restart the game. I can't find any answers. Don't suppose anyone that was here 10 years ago coukd have an answer? Lol
