Can someone tell me what the basic lore words mean? Like Pulse, Cocoon , Falcie and lcie?

Pulse is the Planet down below. It's where insurgents get 'banished' to.

Cocoon is the floating world what you start the game on. It was created by huge machines.

Fal'Cie. The huge God machines that created Cocoon.

L'Cie. The Human slaves of the Fal'Cie. All the main cast are branded as these beings, and must fight to escape it.

There's lots more, but that's basically the plot. Check the in-game catalog menu for more details.

Let's begin with the Myth of Creation.
The god Bhunivelze killed his mother, Mwyn, in order to take full control over the world. But as his mother slipped away into the Unseen realm, Bhunivelze feared some curse from her, a certain prophecy, that all things should end one day (including the great Bhunivelze himself). Bhunivelze wanted to reach the Unseen realm to destroy his mother once and for all, but couldn't find the door, so he created Pulse, a Fal'Cie to go look for the door. He also created Etro as Pulse's companion, but she resembled Mwyn so much, that Bhunivelze left her with no powers and as a replacement he made Lindzei, yet another Fal'Cie to accompany Pulse, he gave both the mission to find the door to the Unseen realm, while Bhuivelze himself went into a deep crystal sleep. Lindzei should wake him up once the door would be found.
Etro was depressed from her lack of powers and purpose, so she killed herself as a cry for attention to her father, but he didn't listen, so she ended up in the Unseen realm herself, just like her grandmother, Mwyn, who was almost consumed by the Chaos upon Etro's arrival.
Pulse created a planet, while Lindzei created, Cocoon, a sort of a moon above it. The planet was named Gran Pulse after the deity, who ceated it. Lindzei took the remains of Etro in the mortal world and created humanity from her flesh and blood. Pulse and Lindzei then at some point created some other Fal'Cie. That part is a little complicated.
The grand goal, that every Fal'Cie is following (except Etro, who fell in love with humans), means the destruction of Cocoon with all the people living there, which would presumably open wide the gates to the Unseen realm and bring back (wake up) the almighty Creator, Bhunivelze. That's also the overall story of the whole Lightning Saga. It began in XIII with the fall of Cocoon and ended with Bhunivelze waking up in LR.
And yea, l'Cie are humans, who were branded by a Fal'Cie as their slaves. A l'Cie is given a focus, a certain mission, but only in a vision, that they have to figure out, what it means. Once the focus is completed, the l'Cie turns into crystal, where they sleep, until given another focus. If the l'Cie doesn't fulfil their focus in a given amount of time (before the brand on their body develops completely), they fail it and turn into a C'ieth, a mindless crystaline monster.

Cool explanation but I wouldn't say that Pulse and Lindzei are fal'cies, they are something like half gods(and considered gods by humans) and they actually created the fal'cie.

Well that's why I mentioned it, like I did.

They are refered as gods many times, but also as Fal'Cie. Inside and outside the games. When you read the wikipedia, Pulse and Lindzei are called Fal'Cie there. They are quite bizzare and mostly mechanical looking, a trait, that is shared by all Fal'Cie. Heck even the God of Light, Bhunivelze himself shares that trait (and we don't really know anything about Mwyn and Etro, only that Etro resembles her "grandmother"). The lore doesn't exactly specify, which "god" is and which isn't a Fal'Cie. Even the "lesser" Fal'Cie created by Lindzei and Pulse themselves are considered gods by some people on Gran Pulse and Cocoon. The only thing, that's for certain are the l'Cie. Those are "human individuals branded by a Fal'Cie". Now a Pulse Fal'Cie or a Sanctum Fal'Cie (all the Fal'Cie on Cocoon created by Lindzei are refered as Sanctum Fal'Cie) actually only choses the person, the branding itself is made either by Pulse, or by Lindzei. This in turn makes either Pulse l'Cie or Sanctum l'Cie (again depending on which Fal'Cie chose them for branding). Like I said, this part is a little complicated. For the better understanding and for the whole story, my explanation worked well.
