Whats up with Vanille's Voice?

Something sounds off about Vanille's voice. Like the voice actress is trying to do a higher pitch than what she can actually do. Or square ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up badly on the audio for the voice actress.

Also, why do the controls feel so floaty? Way too much acceleration going on on my x360 controller.

As for Vanilles voice eh I don't mind her. I find her fun. Her character in the story is awesome too. You will need to finish the game to see why

I started with FF13-2 on the x360 years ago, but never finished lol. wanted to play the trilogy eventually lol

Awesome trilogy with an awesome ending in 13-3

And not that I know of outside of mods (which I don't use). Apparently there is a camera unlock one so you can freely move it and it doesn't make "cinematic" movements by itself

Vanille is really a bad character, and you could make the whole story by just cutting her out. (especially with the english voice actor that did a horrible job) Given what Vanile turns to in 13-LR you are wondering who wrote this whole setting. I really want to like and love this FF trillogy, but in the end it's a huge mess . The only good part is the story/world building and setting of 13, past that in latter 13 games, it turns into jiberish. It feels like the writters had no clue what to do with the characters (looking at you Snow) and how they sidetracked Saz in latter games.

In short you are better of playing 13, and then watch some cinematics on yt for the ending of 13-LR just to see with what they went.

vanille is the best character in this game for me, also i love her voice, its so cute. im like 11 hours into the game now.

Disagree with this on three fronts.

1) She is one of the most awesome characters in the story (Fang being the other one) it just takes a long time before you realise this. This will be explained once a player finishes the game.

2) Gameplay wise she is one of the best being adept in multiple roles. For example the best healer in the game with Healers Staff or joint first with Hope without the healers staff (because nobody else gets Curaja/Curasa except these two, and the two that do get curasa much later are still not as good innthe medic roles). She's the joint best saboteur with fang and also gets access to Death. Both have weapons to increase the chances of debilitation/debuff. She's the joint best synergist with fang (both get -ra buffs and nobody else does). Doesn't surprise me they both are top syn/sabs with the influence they have in the story. Fang is also best com too. For Ravager she doesn't have as much magic as Hope but she is still very good as one. Vanille is just awesome as a gameplay character for all the reasons listed above and more

Now about her voice actor. Honestly it didn't bother me in the slightest, and can be tolerated. Yes it's a bit immature but that's not going to have the impact of hating her to the point of skipping her entirely from the party. Her character is actually really fun in the cutscenes tbh so I didn't have to "tolerate" her.

3) The endings of both 13-2 and 13-3 are very good (whilst also having great gameplay once again). In the case of 13-3 its arguably one of the best endings ever created in any FF game and should absolutely not just be reduced to a "Youtube movie to see what they went with". Similarly if you do that with FF13-2 then the ending doesn't have the same impact

With regards to your comment on Snow he is a better character than most give him credit for because they can't see past his early arrogance (example "hero's dont need plans") but the scenes with Hope could have ended up very differently for the party if it weren't for how Snow takes responsibility for indirectly causing the tragedy that affects hope, which in turn affects hope's anger). He's just not the main character but that's fine I still liked him. Similarly Sazh isn't the main character but I liked him too. Lightning is a weird one because she's very cold for much of the game (even though she doesn't really mean it) but then when she is helping Hope become a better fighter etc she starts suddenly becoming more likeable if someone didn't like her. She starts to accept Snow as well vs earlier in the game not liking him that much (as proved in flashbacks where serah is happy to tell Lightning she's getting married and Lightning basically goes all emo lol)

She becomes even more awesome as a character. Once you finish the game you will understand what I mean.

As far as in battle it changes depending on crystarium growth. Sazh and Vanille are easily the most useful at midgame/early endgame, then you just decide whether you want fang (debilitations, best com) or hope (defensive buffs and best healer). Hope has nice synergy with vanille who's the second best healer as only these two get Curaja so an anything/med/med paradigm is always going to be the best insta healing you can do, and these moves arent buried deep in their secondary progression for extreme costs.

Once you max the crystariums of everyone though vanille and fang get the best offensive buffs in the game (nobody else does) so both replace sazh as a synergist. Fang is also debately far better as a turtle farm leader than sazh at this point. Even Hope gets offensive buffs, but due to his higher hp Sazh is a "better synergist" than Hope. However that's a meaningless comparison if you are using Fang and Vanille to buff. All you gain really is just the ability to get an enspell buff on manually quicker than the AI does them

Every team has it's downsides though and a Fang Vanille Hope team needs to wait a long time to be able to do a 3 com paradigm (because vanille and hope need ruin). However com/rav/rav during stagger is fine as both have high magic and can exploit every weakness in the game to -ga level. This imo is more useful than Cold Blood/Army of One because a rav/rav/rav paradigm without sazh or Lightning is still going to max out a 999% fairly fast (2 rounds vs one). Snow only gets ice and water spells which is pretty awful imo despite his supposedly better animations

Anyway I am getting sidetracked here, overall Vanille is easily deserving of the "best character in the game" title in any sense, along with Fang.

Strong Disagree there. Hope is the only one that I can't stand. Vanille is one of the better characters for me. But this all comes down to personal preference, I guess.

To me, Hope is a big crybaby version of Sora from Kingdom Hearts. Hate that creature.

Fang's VA is american. Vanille's VA was born in Melbourne, Australia
