FFXIII Save Editor.
As I have seen a few posts in here in relation to a FFXIII Save Editor. I have decided to create one. A while ago the save data format was decrypted and that has allowed the creation of a Save Editor to be achievable.

So far I have explored the file format and have a good idea of what is achievable and can be implemented into a save editor and have created a basic program as to show it is possible to be done. I am not a good programmer, however as there is no PC save editor I thought "Why not, might as well try to make it as no-one else has".

I responded in another discussion on this forum, stating I was begining development on a Save Editor for FFXIII and some of the features I have implemented and what features are possible.

Below is the comment I posted on that thread detailing what I have created so far, and what I expect to have done in future versions of the program ( Programming skills are whats stopping me from already having it all done, learning as I go :D )

An update on the features that I have in a prototype version (1.0) and what is to be expected / is known how to be done that will be implemented in future versions.

######
Version 1.0 Features:

  • Character Stat Editing (HP, CP, STR, MAG, ATB)
  • Crystarium Stage Editing (Level 1-10)
  • Gil Editing
  • TP amount editing (You can set it to full or any value between 1-5)
So far that is all I have managed to program that is stable and works correctly as intended. (My programming skills are limited so there is a lot of learning as I create the application.)

######
Features able to be done in future releases/versions:

  • Omni-Kit Unlock (Allows upgrade feature in Save Points)
  • Character Role Level Editing - Can change the role level of characters from 1-5(or 255 if you really wish) (COM, RAV, SEN, SYN, SAB, MED role levels)
  • Save Teleportation- The ability to change where you spawn when the save is loaded, for example can take a chapter 1 save and load yourself to Barthandelus 2, or a endgame save and place yourself at the start sort of like a new-game+. (Not tested if all functional story stuff works in depth, but seems like you can play through as normal when you go to X point)
  • Inventory Editing (Can currently retrieve materials from a save and the quantity. Working on allowing users to add items and amounts currently)
  • Weapon Editing (Is known how to be done)
  • Accessory Editing (Is known how to be done)
  • Character Ability Editing (Is Known how to be done)
  • Party Composition Editor (So you can do solo Lightning runs or have Fang in Chapter 1! although might crash at points)

If anyone wishes to mess around with it here is the GitHub link that contains the program and details other relevant stuff needed:

https://github.com/KiraTheReaper435/ff13-save-editor-software/releases/

And this program will always be Open Source and free to use!

Feel free to add me on discord (on the github link) or steam if anyone has questions ^-^

Dude, I love you. Bounced hard off ff13 when it came out but enjoying my forst playthrough on Steamdeck. I had kids in the 13 years since this came out so can no longer grind an rpg like I used to. Thanks again.

Could you also include the save decrypt tool? The discord link doesn't seem to work for me.

I got it working to the point where I went in and edited each characters CP, my overall GIL, and added some items in inventory editing. I noticed in the instructions, it just says “edit what you want then close the application”. I did that, renamed it correctly, and the new save file appeared in game, but none of my changes were made. Is there a “save when done” button in the save editor I missed? Just want to be sure my changes were saved

I really appreciate your save editor! Any news on the next update?
I’d really like to see feature to add & edit weapons/accessories.
