HD texture pack mod released in 2020

You can download it from Nexusmods. It requires you to have a nexusmods account, but that can be created freely. The texture pack is around 6Gb, the model pack is quite small.

You should unpack them in a new directory, for example C:/Games/Mods/FFXII/. If you want to use both, install HD project first, then unpack HD models plus in the same directory and install that too. It has to use the files created from the previous HD project installation, if you want both mods.

The installation process will need quite a lot of empty space, be sure to have 35Gb+ free on your disk. Once installed, and tested in the game, the content of this install directory (for ex. C:/Games/Mods/FFXII/) can be deleted. The installation process is fairly long, it took me around 45 minutes. Some of it was the brute for searching done to find my Steam game directory. The install will check for a default location of the Steam game directory, but if doesn’t find it there it will start a brute force search for Final Fantasy XIII. I moved my Steam game directory out of the Program Files directory, because some mods had problems if the Steam game directory was under the somewhat Windows protected Program Files directory.
