PC vs PS3 graphics quality?

Is it worth buying FFXIII on PC for better graphics or there's not much difference between PS3/PC ver.? I've tried watching some comparisons on youtube but didn't see too much difference.
Also I've heard PC port had problems with stuttering and fps drops, did they fix it?

In my opinion it really comes down to two things. What resolution will you be playing at and are you willing to use mods. If you are going to be playing at 1080p or less and not using something like DSR or mods, then there probably isn't a strong reason to play the PC version over the PS3. However if you are going to play at 1440p, 4k or use mods, then yes, there are some definite improvements that can be seen on the PC. There are graphic mods on Nexusmods[www.nexusmods.com] that will make the game look significantly better. A number of screenshots from modded versions of the game can be found on Resetera[www.resetera.com].

As for your other question, the default game does have some framerate issues, and if you don't have a controller plugged in, there is a stuttering that can occur every couple of seconds. However these problems can also be fixed with the mod ff13fix[github.com].

Yep, if you are going to play on a big screen with 4K resolution, things will look so much better comparing to the original PS3 version. Some VFXs in this game look absolutely amazing even today, to the point I am convinced SE used to use vector graphics to make such things possible back then in 2009. Yet this game has some weird port issues, like occasional freezes if you dont have a gamepad connected. Still, nothing serious, that you cant overcome with a bunch of fixes and tweaks.

Back when I first played it, I used GeDoSaTo to crank up the resolution to 4k (The game defaults to 720p). I ran a smooth 30 fps on a R9 270x. Otherwise it played fine. I've always been of the opinion SE usually over does their visuals to the point of taxing current hardware and really all you need is to up the resolution and it looks amazing.

Ive got nothing really to add other than FF 13 STILL looking incredible on ps3, by far the best looking game on that console. I played it last year and i couldnt believe how good it looked

If you install mods, the quality will be as good as the latest games.
The graphics quality of this game is quite good when played in 4K without any mods. It is not playable in 4K on PS3.

Looks like a PS2 game that's been upscaled to HD :D
