Toss a Potion as Odin starts his first attack string to help Hope stay alive. You want Protect and Shell on both characters before you move into chain building; this plus Potion use should make it much easier to survive. Use just enough COM to keep the chain going and otherwise focus on as much RAV as you can fit in. Plan on using Potions in addition to (or instead of) Hope's MED throughout the fight. If available, equipping Doctor's Code on Lightning takes Potions from good to amazing at this point of the game.
You can still use a Fortisol if you want but it shouldn't be necessary, and you may want to save it for later use (I highly recommend Fortisols at the end of chapter 5 and/or the end of chapter 7).
Then, when Odin's shield isn't up, just use MED/MED. When it's up, RAV/RAV and COM/RAV. I did it this way and it worked.
I tried both of your advice and got him on the 3rd try.
I did have the com/syn paradigm, I just forgot to list it here.
Definitely a bit of luck involved.
I managed to keep Hope alive enough to buff him up.
Then switched between rav/rav and med/med as needed.
I did have to revive Hope once.
But I finished the battle with 5 Star.
😁
Many thanks!
