From what I gather, Windows Store version:
- Has better vanilla performance - Seems to have better multi-threading support. Correct me if I am wrong on this.
- Has an option to quit the game via the menu, in-game or via Pause & LB+RB to quit the game via the controller.
- Still has heavy compressed FMVs and audio in the FMVs.
- Virtious [If I spelt it right] worked on the build.
- Dried out Grey Controller Prompts are still there.
- Missing Enemy Intel still happens (playing in 4K).
- Star internal animation effect within Battle Results is still broken.
- No Controller Rumble exists within the game.
- Hair Macroblocking still exists.
- Has a bug, if you try ALT+F4 during the Pre-Credits scene / SE screen, the game will state if you want to quit the game. But if you go onto No, the game will be stuck on Paused screen.
It's a bit of a toss up now because if it is patched, that could break a lot of the mods and fixes for issues which have persisted into the gamepass build.
I installed it on gamepass PC and so far its a perfect 60 fps, no crashes, no problems..... 20 hours in and its perfect for me.
That is true, at least 1080p works out of the box.
Is the enemy notes readable at 1440p?

And the game running at 1440p still looks bugged to me:

screenshots from the windows store version.
That sucks, I hope they update the game. At least the game works at 1080p.
Time to update my negative review to mega-negative.
The only real things the new version fixed are the fps drops (only somewhat, at that) and the controller bug. It still has the other bugs like the resolution stuff. The difference is that the Steam version can get the Windows Store fixes *plus* other bug fixes via the FF13fix which is like the easiest mod ever to install
And then there's the graphical and FMV enhancements we can get as well
I'd say we still win out. I'd only recommend the new port if someone just really wants an out of the box, working game. But...again the FF13fix is so easy to install idk how much of an advantage that is. It's just a quick copy-paste job
