game jumps between 30 fps and 60 fps
menu and cutscenes are 60 fps but in-game constantly jumps between 60 and 30 fps. I have vertical sync and triple buff on, frame limiter set to 60 fps. I already checked previous discussions about this but nothing worked so far. is there any new solution or fix for this? thank you.

Also, what is your GPU? If you have an Nvidia GPU, you should be fine, and be sure to set your power setting to "Prefer maximum performance" for FFXIII. However, if you have AMD's 5700 or 5700 XT, you'd better be prepared for loads of crashes when you reach Chapter 3, since the drivers of the AMD's 5000 series are currently incompatible with DirectX 9 games, such as this one.

Nice. Thanks for that.
While i got the game running at 4k/60 at a pretty stable rate i still had some slowdowns in some areas and especially during fights.
With those files its now totally fixed. 100% 4k/60 all the time, even in combat.
And great that i can use it for 13-2 too.

Wait so out of all files, all you need is the dinput8.dll and the ini? And then placing em in the bin folder?

Yup.
dinput8.dll and the FF13Fix

Mind you, the game did already ran pretty well for me in 4k/60 but with this it eliminated even the rest of slowdows/stutters i previously had.

Yeah I'm blind too and didn't read the installation properly until now lol. I'll give it a try cause the constant dips are awful. I even considered locking it at 30

Update: Works perfectly now. 59-60fps even in combat when it used to drop to 30s and 40s. Thanks a lot peeps :wesker:

Holy moly! This fix worked perfectly. The game now runs at a consistent butter smooth 60 fps.

1) Open up the link given above: https://github.com/rebtd7/FF13Fix/

2) Scroll down to the part that says:

Installation

Download the latest release and add both dinput8.dll and FF13Fix.ini to the folder FINAL FANTASY XIII\white_data\prog\win\bin for FF13 and to the folder FINAL FANTASY XIII-2\alba_data\prog\win\bin for FF13-2.

You can to change FF13Fix.ini if you want to change any configuration (e.g. uncap the framerate or disable controller vibration).

3) In the part that says "Download the latest release", click on the word "release".

4) Click on the link that says FF13Fix_146.zip.

5) Follow the instructions given by the quoted part above.
