Not Responding after Launcher
Im having issues trying even boot the game after reinstalling my windows, Any idea's. ive tried reinstalling it, verifying, DEP exception. and still nothing, specs form my pc are more than enough.

Same issue here. I decided to boot this game up after about a month of not playing only to have the game freeze up on launch. Was there an update recently or something that broke the game?

no idea, in the end i just got fed up and bought it on my xbox. Can not understand what changed

just brought the damn game myself, apparently ffx/x2 and 13-2 do the same damn thing for me too...

Looks like I'm going to just re-buy it on Xbox as well. Now I have to get through the dreadful beginning chapters all over again!

Ok I've got a working theory here. I think it may be due to the latest Nvidia driver. I was playing games just fine yesterday before I updated my drivers. Post update, FF 13 and many other games fail to launch. They all alt tab right at startup and then I get "not responding" in the task manager. I'm going to roll back to the previous driver and I'll report back.

So rolling back my drivers did nothing. The odd thing is though, this isn't an issue exclusive to FF13 at least for me. I tried 5 different games and 3 of those 5 games ended alt tabbing, black screen, and not responding. I don't understand what's wrong?

Are they directx 9 games by any chance? Make sure you dont have anything running in the background such as reshade and try shutting down anything like RTSS or msi afterburner that runs in the background.

The games that didn't work were This game, CSGO, and Rocket League. I don't have RTSS or afterburner so idk if any of my programs running in the background would cause such an issue or not. All the things I have running in the background are things I need running in the background like Nvidia control panel, my logitech drivers, anti-virus software, and corsair link for my CPU cooler.

still not working for me, i had the issue with ffx also however reinstalling seemed to fix it, so tried with 13 but no luck. this is a strange error.

weird little update here lol

As soon as i install 13, EVERY other game on my computer fails to load. FFxiv through the square enix launcher, bf5 via origin etc.

This is a really weird thing, as when i uninstall 13 and restart, everything works flawlessly...

I'm you are running on windows 10? Has any of you tried disabling full screen optimizations in the game exe properties, not the launcher exe, the actual game exe

Thats not normal behaviour, how much hdd/ssd space did you have left after the install? If it dips under a specific amount this can stop things working and windows itself starts to get unstable.

3.5 tb space free lol it only happens with ff13, not 13-2 though. 13-2 only crashes on boot.

I tried disabling full screen optimizations and it did nothing. This is such a strange issue. FF XIII doesn't work and then suddenly a bunch of my other games also stopped working.

Same problem here. Are you running in 4k? I ask because I used to be running it in 4k before I did the October Windows update, and now the game won't launch... unless I run in 1440p in which case it works fine. Try 1440p and see if that works, of course it's not ideal but at least you can possibly play again. If it's relevant my specs- 2080ti 9900k, 2tb ssd, only half full, 16gbram so overkill for this game.

Nah, was running it at 1080p on normal settings but im running a I7-8700K, GTX 970, 16GB RAM, 250GB M.2 but its was on my 1TB WDD but now i play it on xbox so it doesnt really matter anymore
