Oerba is super depressing
Seriously I dont think I've ever seen a more haunting place in any game including horror games.
Every bit of this area feels like a void time forgot, and not a supernatural one but a very realistic one. This could be our civilization in another 200 years.

Just dont get how 13 is such a poor FF, when it has amazing places like this with so much atmosphere. I mean this game isn't just good by RPG standards, its good by gaming standards in every genre imo.

I useally stand in awe of the desolate beauty of Oerba. Overlooking the crystal sea you can see a building and a wind turbine, I am constantly thinking what that place is and reading all the little notes on things really helps me feel immeresed in it all. It's sad because a ton of Ceith are there and well.... Ceith are hmans... I imagine all the small ones where children transformed. I also wonder what the bridge place leads too and what destroyed it so.

I know what you mean oerba adds a lot to the imagination, kinda like 7 and the city of the ancients where aeris uh, well pretty sure that's not a spoiler anymore.... Anyway.. Oerba does a better job imo but it is a next gen game. I sometimes wonder what pulse was like as well, some of the stuff looks very modern, I wouldn't say futuristic, but it def reminds me of rusty scrap yards and trailer parks I've seen growing up in USA. Even the little shuttle thing you see looks like an early airplane or space shuttle. Then there's the lone rose sitting on the chair near the flower garden, wonder if there was ever a back story planned for that.

I really want to see a pulse prequel around the time oerba was inhabited. I know it will never happen but it'd be awesome since I'am a vanille/fang fan. And oerba in FF13-2 is just as haunting, since its even farther in the future its also even more void.

As for the cieth, well judging by all the cieth stones all over the place, pretty sure the falcie have been dooming people to be cieths for a long time. I'm not sure if its as clear as everyone in oerba turned into cieth, since it all happened so long ago. I think most of the people there probably left, or died and got burried by loved ones. The fact there's so many cieth now tho, I think it might be the areas creepy atmosphere, and the fact that, well... Bart wasn't far away when you first get there, perhaps the cieth we're drawn to his power.

I could look at that all day, I would fight without fully claering the paradox just so when in battle I can see the void behind the monsters. So gosh darn pretty, chaos like that really appeals to me.

What I'd really like to see though, is an outer space look at how big Pulse is. Cacoon Just looks like a floating pebble compared to gran pulse. It's all so awe inspiring. >_>

The void as in all the space stuff before you open it up more?

Yea that did look pretty cool, but I dunno if its chaos, space to me seems kind of peaceful, Chaos to me is human, because humans do destructive things that make no sense, nature is just nature, to me a nuclear bomb would be chaos, a meteor, taking out all this scum on earth, would be beautiful.

Hahaha, fair enough.

Well I mean, I've gotten to the point where I dont trust any human being because none of them have my interests or well being in mind. So I mean if human beings all have contempt for me, how do I trust anyone, or even have a decent conversation? Oh you hate me ok, thanks.

Kinda makes you tired of hummanity, its like where the ♥♥♥♥ are we going as a species when every single person you meet, doesn't just hate you, but hates everyone else around? And if some guy kills the scum, then he's scum as well, but mother nature...
That's poetic. That's our destiny as a species, the destiny of all species.
