This game allows you to takle it however you want.
Just a shame the the whole money economy is so dam unrewarding and what I feel too gindy at times. Meh
You should go for Sen/Sen/Sen for major attacks because each active Sen reduces the incoming dmg on the whole party. No need for a guard stance, the reduction effect is passive. And each role level strenghtens that effect.
You can heal later.
Just like odin says he should make a noise when you beat him down enough.
It really is in the early goings and you wont make tons of gil till you are very high level and even then it dont come easy. Best thing to do is replay it till you get the routine down, he use to be very hard for me now he never beats me on any playthrough.
