*edit: as you will need to modify the game files directly, it strongly recommended to back up the relevant game folder in the event that something goes wrong to save you downloading the game files again.
Bear in mind though that the victory fanfare music and the music on the battle results screen are two separate music files, so if you were hoping for the music to start at the fanfare post battle and continue through the results screen you will probably need to do some editing to make it feel seamless
- convert your music to ogg (using audacity for example), doing any necessary adjustments.
- Either copy the the contents of FINAL FANTASY XIII\white_data\sys to a other location to work in, or backup the folder.
- Use FF13tool to unpack the file: white_imgu.win32.bin (or white_imgc.win32.bin), this will extract the contents into a folder.
Music will be in this folder: white_imgu\sound\pack\8000\usa for the EN files.
Files are saved in a format called scd which are essentially ogg files with a special header.
Identify which music file you want to replace, the scd files can easily be played in audacity, for this purpose, the fanfare is called music_fanfare.win32.scd
- Use the ogg converter tool of FFXIV explorer to convert your relevant fanfare to the correct scd sound format. (FFXIII and FFXIV use the same sound format). Rename it to whatever music you want to replace eg. music_fanfare.win32.scd is the fanfare tune, music_theme_b.win32.scd is the battle results.
(To get to the ogg2scd converter in FFXIV enplorer, go tools menu, music swapper - ignore the dialog info box as that is for FFXIV only - and then select ogg2scd converter
- overwrite the file in white_imgu\sound\pack\8000\usa with the one you have created.
- repack the extracted white.win32.bin folder using FF13tool (and copy it into FINAL FANTASY XIII\white_data\sys if it's not already done so)
FF13tool can be found here:

FFXIV explorer can be found here:

To revert any changes, either replace the files in FINAL FANTASY XIII\white_data\sys with the originals, or verify the game files through steam.
The computers will likely intimate, that it is all math. However, you can discern the waveforms for what they are, through your tens of thousands of years of progression that has brought you to this state of man.
Most Final Fantasy games involve a complement of developers, who attempt to create an experience together (as if separate for other reason). They do so in a marketing system, that is not relevant to information.
We know what victory fanfare you want, and when. We require you to discern what victory is, but are not so dense to alter it.
Because I am trying to import my custom music with FFXIV explorer but I get silence.
- I create .ogg in audacity
- I convert to .scd using FFXIV Explorer
- I get "filename.ogg.scd"
- I rename the file to match the one I want to replace
- I hit play and I get no music at all.
What am I doing wrong?
