Seriously. Belladonna Wand is incredibly overpowered. A top-tier passive with very high magic? Yes pls.
Lightning makes just as good a sabotuer imo. I want strong magic that causes loads of damage. But thanks for the advice I'll try the pearlwing.
And no, no one but Fang come as close to being as good as Vanille. Time waiting for debuffs to stick is time not spend dealing dmg.
Yep...
Telling me I need this debuff weapon so my fav character can be a weak support type when she causes over 90k fireballs easily. Maybe I do wanna make hope an awesome magic type with vanille, maybe I wanna push both their magic stats, vanilles up past 3k magic now and pushing it more would be preferable, I've used the marlboro wand for the past 3 playthroughs.
Point is I ask for advice that I dont know, and I get the same suggestions I've been hearing for her since day1.
I mean, if you don't want to use her Commando, then cool. Just saying that the reason you're giving here doesn't make much sense.

And of course, a character's proficiency in any single role is rarely the only thing that factors into deciding whether or not they're the right fit for a given strategy.
For example vanille looks cool when she's casting magic, and the magic looks nice as well, and hits very hard, meanwhile she looks very awkward and goofy swinging her weapon around.
You do realize that you have to apply debuffs for optimal dps beforehand?
You have a fundamental misunderstanding of the game. Com has literally nothing to do with physical attacks. Neither has Ravager anything to do with magical attacks. Getting rid of the stereotype is why Ruin(ga) and the *-strike abilites exist.
The difference is practically non-existent and offset by the time you apply the debuffs anyway. Getting faster debuffs should increase your parties total dps more than only pushing Vanille.
