Why Lightning is better than Cloud

And squall honestly... I wont bring up tidus cuz I think he's one of the worst heros in FF... I mean he's basically a shadow or dream so basically means♥♥♥♥♥♥to me and I just hated that whole angle. Kinda like all the ghosts of xmas past except you level them..

Anyway, here's my case, agree or disagree its just an OPINION (some dont get that word these days). Anyway, one thing I noticed about cloud vs light in terms of personality and behavior, clouds a ♥♥♥♥ing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, for real.
I dont give a♥♥♥♥♥♥what people say or how they spin it, yea losing your mom to a psycopath and being expiermented on will make you a♥♥♥♥♥♥lol. But I dont buy that excuse, there's a lot of people who had Fed up childhoods, and are still amazing people who dont take it out on people who are trying to help them.

Cloud is full of it anyway, kinda like rocket racoon in the 2nd guardians, acts like the toughest of them all but is really the most scared. You can see that at the start, when one of avalanche trys to be friendly with cloud, ask him a simple question, and cloud disregards it saying, I just wanna get paid then im out, dont care about any of you, basically. See as an empath myself, I care about anyone who gives me the time of day, or is cool... But that's in short supply these days, thanks in part to really bad politics, chemicals, and imo bad ideals pushed onto us by people who are generally bad people. Games like FF7 aint helpin, in fact nihlistic mindsets aint helping.
Anyway, yea yea he projects himself as the uncaring scumbag, stands up to barret, gets in his face yada yada... Demands money, all that.

Well later on, he see's all of avalanche die and acts like a little ♥♥♥♥♥ about it, what happened man, thought you didn't care? But by the way it seems, the way the members of avalance speak to him before they die, he does care, otherwise he'd just walk off and let them bleed out, but he stays and listens. More than a few times he repeats this, acts like he's concerned for everyone from yuffie when she gets kidnapped to red 13. So the uncaring hardass all of a sudden grows a heart... They did the same crap with squall.

Was pretty hacked and predictable. Lightning however was anything but.

Now from the start of the game lightning acts simular, she acts as if sazh is someone to be abandoned not allied with, sazh has to basically beg her to help him. Well the thing is, she never told sazh off, or made him out to be that way, she was just focused on doing what she felt she had to do, and she thought he'd get in the way. They didn't know each other before either, as opposed to avalanche who hired cloud, cloud knew tifa, and barret, and yet, still a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

So lightning already has reasons... To be who she is...
Now later on in 13, lightning punches a few people, with more than a good reason to, snow was being an idiot trying to dig sarah out with a damn gun like that was gonna work, or fang basically starting all the conflict in the first place. She had pretty good reasons to punch both. Also, her time with hope, when exactly does she go on a nihlistic rant or tell hope everything is dark and horrible? If anything she trys to make hope strong and give him support.. At one point she lies to hope and tells him to focus on anything to help get the job done, but he takes it the wrong way and thinks revenge. Once again not lightnings fault and does not point at an overly negative character.

When we get to pulse and near the end of the game we dont hear much from lightning besides one thing between snow and her about sarah, and its not the most negative back and forth, in fact its somewhat hopeful. Towards the end and final confrontation, she stays focused, strong, and alert against bart, spearheading the team but not exactly being the center of attention like drama queen boy cloud. Really one of my fav parts in FF7 was when cid took the lead and we got to use someone other than him really... I'm not a cloud hater i love the omnislash and several other limits he has, he's not a terrible character... But I absolutely love lightning, looks wise, voice actor wise, moves all that, call me a fanboy all you want I embrace it.

When it comes down to the two, and squall, I'd rank her 1st, then squall, then cloud as the best FF swordsman after 6 (not gonna go into the oldschool stuff). She is quick, focused, less drama and just an all around cool character to me. The only time I really remember lightning being negative, and less focused, was when sarah and snow told her they were engaged, she was being a bit of a jerk then. But everyone in any media has a moment like that, and I think that was the major point where we see just how much lightning really cares about her sister.

I think FF13 has some of the best and most emotional parts in a game honestly, mainly because of the things oldschool fans bash (not that im not an oldschool fan, some are just more romantic about scrolling text boxes and sprite movement than I'am) and that's graphics, sound, and voice acting. To me no other FF besides 6 has pushed that emotion, not 7 either, but 8 came close with the cutscenes and musical score at the end. Storywise I still like 8, 9, 6 and 13 most... 7 to me is a good game but story and emotion wise, its hard to like... It really is and its even harder with badboy troll gamers pushing every aspect of it.

I like Cloud cause he wields a huge sword, has all sorts of ladies chasing after him, and likes to shrug all the time even in tense situations. In Advent Children though he was more emo and less humorous.

I've only gotten started on 13, but I've yet encountered a scene where Lightning was part of something funny. I guess her punching / ♥♥♥♥♥ slapping people is funny.

No she's not a funny character she will not make you laugh once... She's a soldier, ex military, and really pissed off at the purge, she's not the type to joke and laugh at all. But that doesn't mean she's a jerk, she does smile, and she does say kind words to hope and snow in a few scenes.

Cloud I didn't think was that funny BESIDES the time he's cross dressing and taking bubble baths with dudes, and that should be a pretty good reason why cloud fans shouldnt take him to seriously.

I think everything about lightning is better than cloud, but to be honest i think squalls better than cloud as well. I actually think squalls a cool character, he started out a jerk but he gets pretty cool towards the end of FF8 imo.

Well he's entitled to post his opinion.
But, part of what I love about FF is playable females who are strong and not just bouncy objects like dead or alive. Tifa kinda was tho, back in FF7, but I think that was due to its over the top cartoony nature.

I just dont get the jab at all FF women, like Rydia and Celes weren't strong characters.

I'm willing to oblige, however.

Tifa's characterization was stronger--or just as strong--as anyone else in FFVII. Sure, her design was eye candy, but she wasn't just eye candy. Admittedly, she had a more developed character arc than both Rydia and Celes. So, I wouldn't exclude her if I talking about strong Final Fantasy characters/females.
