Your question is foolish however.
We can't tell you if it's good or bad, only you yourself can tell us.
It's all a matter of opinion, just like anything in life.
Consider reading a review or watching a gameplay video instead of asking questions like this.
the Gameplay
gameplay whise they are very similar , run around linear paths , collect "hidden" items , and fight enemies running around , the Game might be a bit linear at first but i dont mind it , imo games that are open world from the start are confusing
the Battle system in 13 however is alot better than
The Battle system
in Battles you only control 1 Character , the other 2 get controlled by the AI ( which works quite well most of the time )
you can just select auto attack which will select a few attacks automatically , for new enemies , your character will usually try all elements on them to see how the enemy reacts ( if he has the ravager role) , if you already fought an enemy before he will automatically use the weakness element or if he doesnt have that one , an element the enemy atleast doesnt absorb
the 6 Roles in the game :
Commando : uses physical attacks and also ranged magic attacks ( ruin)
Ravager : uses Elemental attacks to damage enemies
Sentinel : Provokes Enemies to get Enemies to attack him instead of the Team
Synergyst : Buffs the team with useful buffs
Saboteur : debuffs the enemy
Medic : heals and revives injured or fallen characters
at first Characters only have Commando , in Chapter 3 most unlock Ravager and 2 Main Ravagers lose their commando abilities until Chapter 10 which is when you unlock the full crystarium
the Skill system
in Final Fantasy 13 the Crystarium is used to make your Characters stronger , its mostly a linear path for each roles but theres some side paths with abilities and Stat improvements
i recommend always finishing all roles in the first few Chapters before fighting the Chapter Boss , hes easier with higher stats and you wont have as much grinding later
i can really recommend the game its alot fun ( 100% is a pain in the *** tho , took me 270 Hours on the Xbox360 to get all Achievements )
1 Tipp if you want to 100% it , dont sell weapons or accesoires , you need all of them upgraded to their highest form ( only 1 Tier 3 Weapon per character )
EDIT:
i just recorded some Chapter 11 and 12 Gameplay , gonna take a while to upload
no ff game can beat VII and X-2 imo
I don't think any FF can be worse than mystic quest.
Personally speaking I loved FF13 and one of my top 5 fav FF's, played everyone besides 12.
Then answer this...
Why are you even here? Just to let everyone know you don't like it? That's just.... really sad actually.
FF6, FF7, FF8, and FF9 are all amazing as well. 10... Well, good battle system, summons and graphics... FF11 was a nice online game, FF13 is one of my favs out of the new batch for sheer content, replayability, and cut scenes. Lightning is also one of the best voice actors in all of gaming. But its all just opinion I just wish rampage would explain why he thinks its horrible, cuz when I first started all I heard was it was garbage so I wasn't expecting much. Turns out I enjoyed it more than Fallout3... Which people rave about. Not to say fallout3 was bad, I loved it as well, just saying that's how good I thought 13 was but eh to each his own.
I'm also use to people hating on FF, where I live down south in louisiana everyone loves football, hunting, and gangster rap... So I never really met anyone who shared my love of fantasy games. Why I'm glad for the internet or I'd never be able to talk to anyone about this wonderful game series. Can't help what you like or dislike I guess.
