The better question is, how long did it take you to beat Proudclaud Version 2?
That battle took me 3 attempts to win.
The best thing to do is to use Fang or Snow and shift them into SEN (I forgot which one of them has access to Fringeward passive ability) whenever Cid is attacking any of your party leaders with his chain of attacks.
Fringeward is a valuable passive ability, as it'll reduce damage taken from anyone nearby who is getting damaged by Cid.
If he is attacking someone with low HP, switch to a Paradigm Shift that has COM/MED/SEN.
Else, stick with COM/RAV/SEN (promotes quicker stagger).
I also recommend to try to put Hope in the party, while using accessories to boost his HP. He has access to Veil that reduces the chances of anyone with Veil buff, to get any of the debuffs inflicted, as IIRC, Cid does cast a series of debuffs regularly.
When Cid is staggered, I'd recommend shifting to COM/RAV (or SYN)/SAB to keep him in the air, while he's getting debuffed and you're getting buffed or increasing his chain gauge. When he is debuffed with Deprotect, Deshell, Imperil, Poison, Slow or what not (recommend Slow to slow him down), switch to RAV/RAV/RAV to significantly boost the chain gauge. Near to the end, while there's 1/4 of stagger remaining, switch to three COMs or COM/COM/RAV to wreck him.
EDIT: Just seen this thread was ~6 years ago.
