You can go on to Chapter 12 and 13 (both are relatively short, if boring, all things considered) and beat the game.
yes you can watch videos of all chapters from 13 on the title screen
FF 13-2 picks up right where FF 13-1 ends. In fact the plot of the second one revolves around solving a problem created by the ending of the first one. As a result it is harder to make it sense of it if you don't finish the first game.
It is also VERY important to note that after you finish the game you return to chapter 11. Your characters are not strong enough to handle the side quests the first time through and they are not supposed to be. This area is supposed to be end game content that you return to later.
So just mine whatever Crystarium you need to get to the next level and continue the game. Ignore the side quests for now. After all that is what you are supposed to do.
The Gameplays okay but game itself (especially the story) leaves an acrid taste in the mouth.
If you go on to play FF13:Lightning Returns its more of the same.
The gameplays slightly better again, but with regards to the story at this point, you'll no longer care.
Nothing makes sense.
That said i did platinum trophy all these back on the ps3.
Toises aren't good as they are naturally resistant to physical attacks
Have you tried the typical response?

If all you care about is the trophy, most of the Eidolon finishers can hit a staggered target for more than 99,999 damage. You don't even need a Genji Glove for this.
