A question about the AI content used in game

so devs are supposed to declare on the steam page that they're using AI generated content in their games, right?
then why does the game page not say anything about that? the achievement icons and CD cases clearly use AI generated images.

Generative AI hurts and steals from artists and that is a thing I cannot support.

yeah except if they didnt use ai then it would just be some generic image instead of an AI picture for the 2 most minimal things in the game

doesn't have to be the case, it would've been as generic or as imaginative as they could've made it, you're underestimating the human imagination.

it wouldn't be a big deal if they declared it since it's such a minor use of it, but the fact they haven't declared it is dumb, especially since their game is now breaking the steam TOS.
EDIT: Just noticed the disclaimer was added. No issue with it anymore. Though I probably still won't be buying it as the game seems like it's either dead or filled with horrible people atm. But I'm no longer morally opposed to buying it.

I seem to have lost my will to participate in this fight, now buying from amazon , getting clothes made by forced-overtime children and buying games through keyshops to save a few dollars.
I am not proud about it but it is what it is.

Boycotting ai generated stuff is for me quite low priority unfortunately.

Stick in there and be a good example and ignore those that argue and maybe people including myself will be inspired and do the same some day.

AI is a real issue and if you had any idea about "real issues" you would know that because normalizing the use of AI is directly contributing to global warming and water shortages. There are dozens of articles about this circulating the internet. I wish I had known about the developers using AI for parts of their game, regardless of how minor it is.

It's not even like you need the images for the achievements to be very artistic or anything, using cropped screenshots of relevant parts of the game would've worked just as well. There is literally no upside to using AI here.

You know what does mean that it's AI, though? The devs literally telling us that they used AI to make the images for the achievements. It's on the store page. They added it on the 8th of December, not even half an hour after this post was created. Go to the store page right now, scroll down to right above the system requirements, and you will see the "AI Generated Content Disclosure" stating that "AI only was used to create the achievement images". Hope this clears things up for you.
