studies show most can see around 300fps. it gets pretty insignificant for most after 160 fps. humans can easily see more then 50 fps a second.

Humans are unlikely to see anything different past 500 fps or hz. most people are in the 300 range, but there still a chunk of people who can distinguish the difference at 500hz.

if you look at the chart there is a sharp drop after 398hz, and you can't see low frequency light after 500hz.

Like most folks here, I was naturally irritated by this buggy release that caters primarily to the folks willing to drop >$1000 on their GPU alone. However, it turns out that there is a silver lining for the rest of us. Ray tracing is only available in the DX12 version, which is itself a poorly implemented wrapper for the native DX11 code. If you've applied both hot fixes that were issued since the release AND you run in DX11 mode, you should see reasonable performance with your existing GPU. You'll get all of the texture improvements and some of the lighting ones with none of the RayTracing/DX12 overhead and bugginess.

I'm a budget 1080p gamer rolling with a 6600 (not even XT) and I'm getting 100fps with most settings on HIGH and a few on Ultra. For your AMD folks, the key is to turn on FSR (Radeon Super Resolution) in the Adrenaline software. Within W3NG, set DisplayMode=FullScreen and Resolution to about 2/3 of your monitors native resolution (1080p if you're 1440p, 720p if your 1080p, etc.). Turn off VSync in W3NG and use Enhanced Sync in Adrenaline (FreeSync and LFC if your monitor supports it).

Most of the W3NG graphics settings in the top half are a matter of taste and have little impact on your FPS. In the bottom half, turn OFF NVidia Hairworks completely. Pick a base quality level on the remaining settings and if your FPS is reasonable, you can bump up Terrain Quality, Texture Quality and Detail Level since they have negligible cost (Shadows, Water, Grass and Foliage are more expensive). This should get you back to your original FPS in 1.32 with better quality graphics from 4.0 (unless you shoot yourself in the foot with some of the additional Radeon Adrenaline settings - read the FAQ before tinkering)!

I have a very old PC wich was able to run old version with pretty high fps. Now its unplayable with everything on low (<24 fps). I live in Ukreine and to buy even used GPU like gtx1050 i have to work for like 3 months. I'd like to play old version is it possible to downgrade it somehow?
